It only took 70+ years but tube trains now enter the station
Well it is only on our layout but it is still nice to see
Only a test to see if it fits still loads to do to it
It is the CDC Design kit but slimmed down 'cos the platform is too narrow

Hi
Glad you like it
You've got good eyesight to spot the ad. It's quite good for helping to date the layout, 'cos the ad reads ' coming in 1964'
They don't show in the video but I've got a couple of the Hutchinson underground maps on the waiting room walls, and that helps with the dating too
Not the easiest of kits to make but the job was made a bit easier using Roket Glue - without it, the corners would be impossible, as I did away with the tabs and just did 90 degree corners
Still to come - a BR island platform, footbridge and a Holden booking office
I'll keep you posted (no pun intended)

Easy to see when you're an aviation enthusiast. You've actually put maps inside the waiting rooms? Now that's attention to detail.

Here is another youtube video of our layout progress with more shots of Highgate and a glimpse of Gilwell Park
At last I have fitted DCC chips to our EFE trains it shows them running in DCC
I used one chip per train both teshendo bogies are in the NDM car in each train and it looks like it works. I used the Lenz chips in each train the chips can output 1A cont 1.8 peak I think 1A should be enough to run 2 chips
I found the trains ran better under DCC but that might be 'cos I put a drop of oil on each gear set as I had the motors open to fit the chips
Hope you like it
As i write this the video is still uploading so the link might not work for a while

Very nice. Just one little suggestion though: infront of the tunnel, you might want to add another switch going the other way.
In the current track layout it seems that the underground trains, regardless of their direction, can only run on one track.

Hi
Glad you like the video
Actually, Underground trains won't usually be running through that part of the layout where the tunnel is
From the 4 platform Highgate station they run on the 2 inner tracks of the 4 tracks around to the viaduct station where they end in a single platform, like the old New Cross and New Cross Gate stations on the East London line
The Underground tracks are only connected to the BR tunnel tracks for the odd stock transfer

Here is somthing for the weekend
As I write this at 15:00 it will be about 2h before the video will be ready
Another look at our layout now all the stock is DCC. Look out for the Deltic I bought Lyn got for christmas and the streetlight in the high street that was bent when our Devon Rex girl cat got in the room and went for a stroll over the layout. LT have got a works train running into Gilwell Park siding and our Class 105 is running at last looking just like they did running on the GOBLIN line in the 1960's only back then they came from Kentish Town or St Pancres Gospell Oak came much later
Hope some of you enjoy it

Coming along nicely. Is that Clan going to be 72009 Clan Stewart which was trialled on the GE?

Hi All Here's our latest video. This time it's a 3 in 1 Have you ever noticed that LEDs are often far too bright ? We found this with our point control board, they were so bright, they hurt. We found an inexpensive solution though - an in-line dimmer. Including postage, less than £10, fitted in 5 minutes Shameless plug here. I got it from www.microminiatures.co.uk/acatalog/led.html. It's called a LED and Filament Bulb Slide Dimmer We've been looking at layouts on YouTube and a lot of them seem to have LEDs which are way too bright in the buildings. We saw a station entrance and platform which so dazzling it could have been a stage at a Pink Floyd concert. And signal boxes so bright, the poor signalman would need to wear dark glasses to do his work Now that it's not so cold, Lyn's been working on her country scene. The church bit's obviously not finished yet but you can get an idea of what she's done in the 'Green Rover Day Out' section Lastly I've been working on the Scalescenes north light engine shed. You can see the side walls of it on the last section of this video Hope you enjoy it
