I'd been looking enviously at the forthcoming Kernow commission of the Thumper. Anyone who does 1990's could justify this NSE version at Watford and Chesham in 1995! www.flickr.com/photos/keith-v/8051392658/in/pool-993434@N21/Now, what Thumper tours operated in green in the early 60's? ?? url tags added to hyperlink by mrfs42: which seems to make flickr throw a wobbly

Having edited the post, and things not gone as they were, I've cut and pasted the link and it now seems to work! Computers, heh! Link

Wierd! I thought I'd done the same thing as I normally do and it all went pear shaped. Apols.

The one in the original post seems to have a new line after it... i.e between the URL and the closing tag, there's a carriage return. Remove that, and it should work.
The link in mrfs' post is OK though.

Yes - but the original link was to a thumper in NSE livery next to an A stock at Watford.

It is if you remove the new line as far as I can tell (I don't know what a thumper looks like, but it's definitely an A Stock and Watford!)

Ah just sussed why it may not work. XF's link is direct to the chap's Flickr account. His pic is also in some Underground Group of like minded photters (hence the mention of pool in my original link).
Looks like this is causing problems and something to watch in future.

Having grown up in Crowborough during the 1980s, I can confirm that is a Thumper (a.k.a. Class 205 "Hampshire" DEMU)! That particular unit now resides far from its Southern home, being based on the Eden Valley Railway in Cumbria.

At least it still exists!
The model will be pricey though.

They are not cheap. I ordered a set from Kernow, as I do remember these frequently going through Fratton to Portsmouth and Southsea. I expect they are similar in construction to the Bachmann EPB which is excellent, and there's talk of doing the centre carriage if Kernow sells enough units. www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/images/prod_27412_2179.jpg
