According to a railway magazine, Modern Railways (Jan 2013 ed) I think, whilst there were already proposals to extend the DLR to Ladywell, Catford and Hayes, another one is that after it extends to Catford it runs instead via tunnel to Grove Park and takes over the Bromley North Branch Line.

I've read about the proposal for the Bakerloo Line taking over the Hayes branch, can't help but thinking the DLR taking it over would be a retrograde step. Unless they plan on keeping the same inter-station distances, in which case a similar journey time might be achievable.
Regards,
Dan

This has been on cards for some time. The other option was to extend Tramlink from Elmers End.
Will need to progress fairly quickly as there is a plan to extend the shopping centre across the roundabout and bus park at Lewisham. Traffic will be diverted via Rennell Street (under the extension).
(New bus park to the west of the station)
