Just discovered that C2C are running trains via Stratford at certain times on selected days during the festive period to serve Westfield Stratford City, I think this is the first time in a long time that the Limehouse - Stratford diversionary route in service excluding the rail tour, of course the Forest Gate - Barking route is used during engineering works. Saturday 15th, 22nd, 29th DecemberTrains into London Fenchurch Street between 8:50 and 12:20 from Shoeburyness will run via Stratford. Trains leaving London Fenchurch Street between 13:30 and 18:00 will run via Stratford. On a Saturday the Stratford trains will not be stopping at West Horndon, Pitsea, Limehouse or West Ham. Sunday 16th, 23rd and 30th DecemberTrains into London Fenchurch Street between 9:05 and 12:35 from Shoeburyness will run via Stratford. Trains leaving London Fenchurch Street between 13:40 and 18:10 will run via Stratford. www.c2c-online.co.uk/westfield

It is the semi fasts that diverted ie not the Ockedons or the all stoppers. Got one at 17 13 at Barking. Except for the last carriage was almost empty.

AIUI this is an experimental service, with c2c possibly having it run for longer next Christmas and January sales period, depending on take up. As revupminster has pointed out, the trains don't seem to be very well used, with most pax using other services. The reason that Ockendon trains are not being diverted is because if those trains are diverted, it risks jeopardising the reliability of the single line between Upminster and Grays, at least that's what c2c are saying.
