Is it possible to install trackernet on my laptop? Iwould imagine if it was technically feasible, it wouldnt be allowed from a security point of view.

I don't think anyone at LU can bat on about security if they're using Internet Explorer... what is this program anyway? Surely you can install it just as you can on a desktop computer?

i think you need network priviledges, an old boss and an it trainer have both talked about how they can access the intranet at home.

LU move customers from A to B, they used to do it via 'C'.

I have secure access to my e-mail and hard drive through my LU laptop. As for Trackernet, no you cannot install it on your home PC or laptop! You even need a password to access the replay facility on Trackernet. As an aside, IT have issued more senior level managers with XDAIIs PDA's which will in time give them company e-mail on-the-go free from laptops but at the moment it is not considered secure enough. You can get the service status info (same as the ones on TFT screens at some stations) on your company PDA's now too.

I recently had to make use of the feedback form on the Network Rail site, and when I clicked on the link, I was redirected to a page listing internal and external telephone numbers for all the singalboxes! Fortunately, it was during the day time, so I phoned the enquries number after I actually found the feedback form, and informed them of the glitch.
About an hour later I got a call back from a Senior Network Rail Manager, who thanked me non stop for letting him know about it. I'd hate to think just how many people could have looked at that page...

Not using a password for replay sounds good, I can never remember all the different passwords!
