On December 10, 2012 Calgary Transit is set to open a new 8 kilometer LRT line from the City Centre to the South West.
VIP tours were offered to employees and their family members on December 1.
I was able to attend with my son and a friend of mine, who also works for Calgary Transit. On the return trip he video recorded the entire trip and this is posted to Youtube if anyone wants to watch.
The car we rode in, 2102, is a Duwag U2 built in 1988 (one of two) and of all the cars these two remind me when they accelerate out of stations of riding London Underground trains.
Anyway enjoy.
PS you can see me in the video at one point!

Except for the most recent trains, and the seating around the joint on most of the cars (the cars are articulated) they use transverse seating. The recent cars. called series 8 because they are the 8th batch (yea I know not very imaginative), are fitted throughout with longitudinal seating.
The voice overs were just for the VIP tour, there was a training officer in the cab with the driver and what you hear is the training officer telling the visitors, who all all Calgary Transit employees and their families, plus some politicians about the new line.

The seats don't look as though they are built for comfort!
Not sure if it was an optical illusion or not, but deceleration seemed very rapid.
