To add to what seth says, if you are starting from scratch it's probably better to conventrate on BVE4, the latest. Its quality is so much better than BVE2 (which was brilliant in its time) and you'l have hours of fun on the BVE4 routes.
Also, since various members of the forum are actively involved in the coding you will find answers to any problems you may have.

BVE1 was excellent in its time as well . Anything that will work under BVE2 can usually be coaxed to work under BVE4 however.

Hi Marty, There are many, many routes all over the internet for BVE4. However, as the other guys have said, I'd start with BVE4, rather than BVE2. Virtual Rail is an excellent guide to routes, and links to all routes for the UK. I would suggest the following sites for BVE4 routes: www.trainsimcentral.co.uk - Maybank route, Clarendon, many LUL routes. www.railsimroutes.co.uk - Birmingham Cross City South line and Watford Jcn to Rugby www.bveroutes-trains.co.uk - Richwell Network, and more BVE4 routes coming very, very soon members.lycos.co.uk/eezypeazy/ - Tyne Valley and Aln Valley Other sites such at Shane Roberts' and Zane Saxton have many routes in production, so I'll not list those here. Let us know whether you like BVE4 or not! ;D

I downloaded the Bakerloo on BVE, great stuff. Now can someone help me transfer the 38ts over to this line, that would bring back some good memories.

Of course Ikar, I forgot that one! ;D Yes, Colin. Open 'Notepad', and then open your BVE4 directory and go into your 'Railway' folder. Then, go into 'Route'. Now, find the Bakerloo line folder, and open it, finding the .csv file you want to edit. Now, drag the .csv file over the Notepad document you have open, and drop it in. Find the 'Train.Folder' line near the top, under the 'With Train' line. Change it to the 1938 stock folder name. Hope this helps,

Or look at this post form the 'Bakerloo released' thread below. You needn’t mess about with the main BVE route files to choose a different train. A very smart program called ‘BVE Route Randomizer’ lets you choose a train you have on your BVE system and run it on a route of your choice, amongst other features including timetable, adhesion and signalling editing to make your experience on BVE much more challenging! You can download BVE Route Randomizer from - koti.mbnet.fi/lopomo/trainsoft/BRR.html Works a treat: any stock on any line!

Class 323 now on Northern Line, You DID enlarge the tunnels to cope with full-size stock first...... ? Mind you, as mentioned elsewhere, 38ts on the ELL is genuine.
