So BVE's just a 'game', right? Loaded BRR and installed it. First test: put 72mkiiTS on Northern, Edgware to Kennington.
Load up, away we go - - - - onto the RIGHT hand running line!
No problem, bit of fun, signal heads are near the RH line, not on their bases. All greens though
Then OH SH*T. There's a train on my line straight ahead of me. And I can't ****** stop in time!
That's where it stopped being a sim for me and became every driver's nightmare. My stomach muscles tightened and all the other things that start to happen in this situation. (I have experienced a head on impact with stationary stock at just 4mph and that was scary enough). By the time I had ploughed into the front of the other train my brain had just about told me it wasn't real: it was (what seemed like) many seconds of absolute hell.
Perhaps one of our experts can tell me how it happened: it was the first time I had run BRR: when I (had calmed down and) reloaded it, it ran perfectly and has done ever since.
But it shows how real BVE as a sim is (advice for those who do not drive in 12" to the foot). I really was scared half to death.

Something very similar happened at WCTC along time ago, I was on a refresher with a couple of other MM when the video started going crazy. IIRC it was a Picc train, at first it was quite funny until a train appeared ahead and we were travelling at break neck speed. The fear was very real for all three of us in that mock up cab as we tried to "escape". It took a few cuppas in the canteen to settle us down. I don't think they got it fixed in time for us to go back in...thankfully

In BRR there is a box labeled Alternative Paths whih is defulted to 20%, this means the line you run on maybe changed. You can disable it by changing the percentage to 0. You can also choose to relocate static trains, remove them or leave them where they are. HTH Thomas

Can be quite confusing (but rewarding when used to quickly and easily generate alternative routes and pathings).

I also tried this BRR today, put it on 100% and drew with the HST from Edinburgh. Easy 20 mph out of the station and through the tunnel, signals shows yellow with diverging route set, going 20 I went straight in front of the Voyager's path, plunged the Emergency and thankfuly stoped in time. Scared me a lot...
