I'm sure this was flagged up and discced (on this forum?) around the time the Stratford International extension opened. Took a little while, though, didn't it?

Where District Dave leads, others follow!
Mind you, this is the Daily Mail, I'm surprised Abbey Road station doesn't give you cancer.

Unless I'm missing something, that's not the Daily Mail. It's mail.com which is owned by 1&1 hosting (according to their logo!).
It does amaze me people would turn up without checking first. Surely if you're making a journey to somewhere special, you'd do a bit of research first and find out where it *really* is and how to get there? Or is that just me?!

Well that serves me right for making an assumption!
I remember when I had just moved to Liverpool, a group of Japanese tourists coming up to me on at the side of a dual-carriageway out of town and asking "where Beatles?" I pointed them in the direction of Matthew Street and I think they were happy. If they'd carried on walking the direction they were they would have ended up in Bootle :S

Someone nearly gets themselves run over about every thirty seconds and it's interesting to see just how cars totally ignore the crossing. Well worth a minute or two of your life www.abbeyroad.com/crossing

Just seen four people on bicycles trying to do the "Abbey Road Thing", and it's half ten on a damp autumn night!

Just watched four kids hold up the traffic for their "photo op" right in front of a police van.

Traffic was stopping when I watched. It was the peds who were taking the pi$$ by stopping in the middle of the crossing and posing for photos. I am not suprised if regular users of the road start ignoring the crossing (not justifying it just saying that I am not suprised)
