Can anyone help me with downloading BVE? I've done everything the instructions say but it still won't work.

If you've done everything the instructions say, then it should be working.
Anyway, what exactly is the problem mate? Do you fire up BVE and nothing happens or what?

Hang on a min, I'm just gonna have another go. I've just had to re-start the PC as it put my monitor settings up the wall and I couldn't get out of it again.

Right, I've got as far as opening the BVE icon and it's offering me a route called Uchibo. Have I got to download a train as well or is this there?

Uchibo's the default route that comes with BVE. The train for that should already be installed. You're good to go mate!

Now I've downloaded the ELL. Unfortunately all I can see is Shoreditch station and I've tried every button on my keyboard and can't get the controls to move.

Not to worry - I've just figured out how to operate the reverser and we're off on the East London Line!!! Sadly I've just over - run Whitechapel.

Keep at it. The Northern line's fantastic - you have to download the route, the train and the sounds then you're off! If you're starting from scratch, ignore BVE2, just go for BVE4. www.trainsimcentral.co.uk/

There is a file at the address above called 'Northern Line signalling'. Download that and it will work with all the LU lines, not just Northern. Only needed for BVE 2 though. BVE4 downloads LU signalling automatically (or should do - mine did).

Off to the Bakerloo now or maybe not.

Alex: if you've downloaded BVE2 as well as 4, have a go at the DLR - it's great fun and IMHO the best of the BVE2 routes.

I tried to get the DLR - it said that there was something wrong with some script or other. (On BVE 2)
