I thought that because this was to do with BVE, I'd post it here. Between S Wimbledon and Morden, for a moment, theres a 'square' tunnel - where signal Y2 is. Why's this tunnel different? Is it part of an orginal extension or something? EDIT: Have just had a brainwave: Is it that this is the cut and cover method - transition from tube tunnel to open air? I need to think before posting! ;D

Yep, cut and cover was only done for lines based close to the road surface. I think that section must be close to the road level, as otherwise they'd have used the deep level tunneling method.
