I'm just wondering if there's any reason for the internal orange light signifying that the doors are open on the Bakerloo line trains? i spotted it yesterday, and it was the first time I'd ever seen anything like that... Especially as it was right next to the PA speaker...
I guess it could be for people hard of hearing?

Maybe for maintenance staff to see if the door interlocks are working?

Those little "dalek" internal door indicator lamps were fitted to assist in fault finding, when the driver would have to walk back through the train to find the car causing the loss of the doors closed visual when between stations, down the pipe.

The 1967s on the Victoria Line also had them.

Modern trains have a screen in the cab, that displays the car/door numbers of any doors left ajar - which serves the same purpose.
