I got on a Circle line train yesterday at Liverpool Street and sat in the last carriage. I noticed that the frames round the advertising boards were yellow in appearance. I'm not sure whether the whole train was like this or just this carriage: does anyone know when was it done and was it just a trial?

I couldn't tell you exactly where I've seen them but they are perfectly normal. I doubt they'll be experimenting with circle line trains at the moment, given that they will be replaced quite soon. (Unless they continue to delay the introduction by 12 months per annum.)

Ah, cheers Julian, I hadn't realised that was the remnants of the Yellow Pages train. Must have been a long time ago now, Yellow Pages seems a bit passé in the Internet age.

An excellent bit of historical sleuthing, Julian. Kudos!
