It's starting to look like a slow mover at the prices generally sought by retailers. If you just want the loco or one of the wagons, some retailers are breaking the sets and listing them individually on a well known auction site.
(Having said that - Hattons is probably one of the most competitive prices at the moment if you want the full set).

Wow, that is awesome. Do they charge you for delivery to your house when you order online? ;D

At High Wycombe Wycrail event today, Cheltenham Models were doing L97 split from sets for £59.95.
I was tempted but as I'd spent a lot elsewhere, I decided to pass

I looked into getting a set but I'm doing things differently (I always have to be different! ;D). I have now decided to use Pannier L91 for my layout. It was one of the longest lived numbers 1956-1968 albeit using 2 different machines- but that doesn't bother me. Rather than use the Bachmann 3 plank wagons I have used the Hornby type which were going cheap from Rails of Sheffield. I also cut down a pair of 7 plank! wagons to make the first two. I have now decided to convert these into match wagons. The moral of the story is, as metroland and myself have demonstrated you can really make some utterly convincing wagons that look really realistic. Good luck!
