Hi all According to Underground News October 1998, the above units (91309-93209) were sent to Hainault depot due to fire damage. Sorry to bring up something so old but I was not aware that any of the 92s were damaged by fire. Any ideas? kabsonline

It was a short circuit and subsequent small fire under the train that happened near Leyton westbound on Sunday evening 24 May 1998. It was caused by the train running over a discarded mattress. The shut-down was about 2 hours and most of the damage was caused to DM 91309. It (along with 92309) went by road from Hainault to Adtranz Crewe 28/1/01, returning to Ruislip on 14/1/03. It re-entered service 27/5/03.

Why did it take so long for the unit to be sent away for repair? Also was it just the engine side of it or cosmetic side as well?
