Maybe an unusual query. During the A Stock's 50-year lifespan, it ran next to - and/or shared rails with - numerous other train types, both London Underground and National Rail (or British Rail as we used to call it).
Wonder how many photos exist of A Stock next to another stock? Are there some on Flickr or other sites? Or published in books down the years? Does anyone know, or - if they have any photos - would they be willing to upload them?

I purchased a book last Saturday "The Great Central from the Footplate". The cover photo depicts 'Jubilee' 4-6-0 45567 'South Australia' leaving Amersham in March 1963 forming the 12h38 Marylebone - Nottingham service passing an A Stock train in the sidings just north of Amersham station. I think the leading A Stock car is 5040. As well as steam I recall a Class 40 leaving Harrow in the mid 1960's with a parcel train for Marylebone. Photos also exist of Cl 25's in use on the line. Cl 115 DMU and others subsequently ran from Marylebone. LU stocks the A Stock will have run alongside include Standard Stock, 59 Stock and 73 Stock on the Piccadilly, 38, 73 and 93 Stocks on the Jubilee plus the experimental trains. I often think of the extensive rail system which existed in 1961 compared with that of today. It all seems a world away!

There is a picture out there of an A Stock next to a 1992 Stock at Rusilip which is not one seen very often.

Class 455There appears to be a GE line train (possibly a Norwich line Mk 2) in the background of this picture

A few nice ones there. Best so far I think is the one with the Southern Class 455 at New Cross Gate.
Something I find amazing about this marvellous stock is that when it was introduced, it was running next to loco-hauled stock, T stock, F stock and P stock on the Met - and in 1999 the A stock served the super-modern Canada Water station, with the Jubilee Line platforms with platform edge-doors, just a few steps down. And when Canada Water opened the A stock had another decade and a bit to go!
