I used to live in Perivale until earlier this year.
I went back a few days ago and discovered that there is some sort of civil engineering or reconstruction work going on around the bridge over Horsenden Lane South and the Newsagents in the station. Is anyone able to give more details of what is going on and why?
Thanks.

From the Metro earlier in the week they have just installed a sacrificial beam to prevent any overheight vehicles hitting the bridge.

That was my local station too, from 1949 to 1970. As far as I can recall Perivale station had no bus service until 1954, then Sats and Suns only (alternate route working by the 79/79A) until 1956, then Sats only until 1968, when the new 297 served it daily. My other local station was Alperton, so had the benefit of two choices of Pre-1938 Tube Stock whilst growing up

Do they still make Hoover vacuums in Perivale. ISTR seeing the factory from the Central Line tracks on many trips to and from the West End.

Isn't the Hoover building one of the all night Tesco stores where I used to get lunch snacks in the wee small hours before the all night Tescos near Heathrow and at Earls Court opened?

"Hoovers" has been a Tescos for quite a few years now - since 1992 in fact.
