One for T/Ops most probably. But have you ever been driving along in a Deep Level tunnel and all of a sudden you end up chasing a Pigeon down the Tube? (I.E you're motoring along and all of a sudden you're gaining on a Pigeon) I've never heard any stories of Pigeons flying down tunnels and ending up at the next station, does it happen often? They wouldn't like to go down into the portals of the Central, especially if an ATO Train is gaining on them... They're obviously going to be cream crackered if they did... (Because the Train will just keep on motoring at it. )

We have had stray dogs, cats and ferrets, a guinea pig that escaped from a cage, roe deer, as well as an assortment of gulls, pigeons and rats in the tunnels. Fortunately, the horses and elks seems to have kept themselves to the surface stretches. I would not want to have to drag a dead horse through the tunnels, not to mention trying to get it over the ticket barrier.

I don't think you'll see a Pigeon or any other bird down the tube. 'Deep dark holes' seem to frighten them. The SSL stations are a different matter. You'll hget all sorts of creatures there.

I wonder if we've had Bats in the tunnels? ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Used to be LOTS of bats at Upminster. They roosted somewhere in the depot building and fluttered down the yard when the floodlights came on.
