First advice would be to scrub all your half-installed copies - it can be really confusing trying to sort them out afterwards.
Secondly it appears you're not on an admin account under Win 2000 - log on as one, working as a limited user on a local machine will block so many things.

My turn to pose a problem tom (or anyone else with the answer) When i try to access your site i get this: Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apache/1.3.33 Server at www.tombeevers2000.x02.co.uk Port 80 As you probably guessed i'm on AOHell. Any ideas? Thanks

I have tried it from an AOL connection and it's fine... which browser are you using?

The default IE thats with AOL9. I've just opened your site directly from IE and it opens fine. I'll play with some settings within AOL and see what happens.

Error 404 is a 'File Not Found' error and the other message is a 401/403 - neither of which should be caused by your browser.

The university web cache is reporting that that url doesn't resolve to an IP address. Going to www.x02.co.uk reports that "This account has been suspended". Don't know if that's relevant.

The site seems to have fallen off its perch - I'll drop the hosts a line.
The site was fine at the time of topD78s post, but it seems to have died since.

Dont bother Tom. I've tried contacting Tim Harvey loads of times. I've sent about 12 emails over the last 3/4 weeks and got no reply. I think his given up on free-hosting as the server I was on wen't down weeks ago and still is - AND I PAID! I'm always happy to help if you want temp hosting.
