I am looking for some rolling stock to form a engineers train to go behind my bachmann pannier tank. I have some BR Steel trucks and some LT brake vans but I am trying to get hold of some other longer trucks. This video has the sort trucks I would be looking for at 3:49 and this video has some low loader type things. Does anyone know of either reasonably priced kits for rolling stock or some RTR examples?

Those Radley models surface stock items don't look right when viewed from side-on. The bodies sit too high on the bogies and look attenuated in height.

Some of them do. Which ones in particular?

Thanks for the response guys. That gives me several things to try for trucks. What about the low loaders in the second video does anyone make them or a close approximation as if I had a couple of them then that could add some variety to my goods train.

Cambrian produce some models of engineering stock such as the 'Bloater' track carrying wagon that is very similar to LT engineers wagons and it might be possible to alter it.

Cambrian also produce Turbot wagons of LUL bought 60 some years ago. Will need to be modiffied from the kit but its not too bad. This is one of my (many) current projects!
These wagons are modern image and won't work behind a pannier.

The Hornby 3-plank wagons are the easiest and most cost-effective way of doing the fomer MET ten-tonners. The bogie 'flat' is available from Radley models as is the old Wills/SE Finecast kit for the MET 10-tonne brake van. The 6 BR style (and BR built) 20 tonne vans are the same as the Hornby/ Bachmann one and a simple repaint will suffice. Other vehicles would have to be scratch built. So far I have done a Hurst-Nelson brake van and two different MET brake vans out of plasticard and bad language! I also intend doing a rail carrier but that won't be easy due to its length. There is also a Well wagon at Didcot that is ex LT (the swing-up buffers give it away) and i will measure that when I am there next. PM me your email and I'll send you some pics of my stuff.
