On the GA side of things, the control room staff monitor CCTV, answer help points, keep staff on the ground informed of disruption/delays, and take calls from other stations for wheelchairs/VIP's etc and relay them to the appropriate staff. As a side note, after 7/7 and Connect being brought in, the mainline TOC's still haven't learnt. Staff at Stratford have no means of radio communication with LOROL/DLR/LUL staff. Certainly before Connect LUL provided the FGE/GA staff based up on Platform 6 with radios so that everyone working on the station could keep in contact, it was considered to be essential for fire safety and evacuations. I wonder why they stopped that, doesn’t seem a particularly effiecent way to run a station. So they'll be tfl grade staff selling national rail tickets? What are “TfL grade staff”? I’m not aware of any TfL staff selling tickets anywhere, TfL is all office workers, LUL is separate. I’d imagine the staff working at Stratford will be working for whoever gets the franchise to operate Crossrail, like LO is run by Deutsche Bahn and the Hong Kong Metro or DLR is run by Serco. As Stratford is a mainline station they have to be able to provide a far wider selection of tickets than LUL.

Most LUL stations (even those not served by anything else) can sell tickets for the Network Southeast area, at least

Most LUL stations (even those not served by anything else) can sell tickets for the Network Southeast area, at least National Rail ticket offices are required to sell single and return tickets between any two National Rail stations in the country, so you can buy a ticket from Golf Street to Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch at Stratford if you so desire (£129 standard class single).

Most LUL stations (even those not served by anything else) can sell tickets for the Network Southeast area, at least Although unfortunately many staff are unable to due to poor training. Whenever I have tried to buy a ticket to Aylesbury at a certain Jubilee line station, they have no idea how to issue one. So I now buy a ticket at Harrow, although once a CSA (who looked new) there also didn't know how to issue one. Luckily for me there was a Station Supervisor nearby. National Rail ticket offices are required to sell single and return tickets between any two National Rail stations in the country, so you can buy a ticket from Golf Street to Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch at Stratford if you so desire (£129 standard class single). You can also buy a ticket from any National Rail station for a journey between any mainline station to any LUL station, although you may have difficulties if you try this outside the former NSE area as station staff might not have an Underground map to hand. For instance an Anytime Return between Newcastle and Neasden is £307.20.

They may use North Pole (former Eurostar depot) across the GWML from OOC from Crossrail as it has been mothballed since St Pancras was redeveloped for Eurostar. North Pole will be used for IEP i believe. Chris I (currently) work around the corner from North Pole and it appears to be in a bloody awful state, although I can't 100% tell looking through the shrubbery that's exploded up over the site.

There most certainly wont be guards!! IIRC Terry Morgan commented something about ATO, UTO and provisions, though I can't quite remember what without my notes. Since ATO is happening anyway on the central section it wouldn't merit a comment specifically as an adjunct from him at the setting, so I'm tempted to say that he was making the point that UTO capability on XR would be possible, though not pursued. So there you go! No guards, and in the distant future maybe not even drivers
