Although not London Underground, does anyone have the Paris Metro add on for MSTS which can be found here: perso.wanadoo.fr/bmbw/RFSP/TS-RFSP.htm I downloaded it OK and translated the read-me, (it is in French), but I can't install it. At least I think i have, but it's not there. ARGH Does anyone have it and know how to install it? Or at least how i may install it. It is made up of 3 .rar files just to confuse matters. Thanks Chris

Haven't had time to test everything as I'm off to bed (on nights) but would assume the following after a few quick glances: First off get a copy of WinRAR from a location such as this: www.rarlab.com/Works much the same as WinAce. Download the 3 files on your french page (marked 1-->10.00 etc. where the 10.00 seems to be the size in MB) I would imagine you will end up with three archives containing the core route files. Unzip (or unrar if you like) these to your MSTS Routes folder. This will more than likely give you the folders required for the route plus shapes/textures etc. There will more than likely be an "install.bat" file which you should run after installing the core route. Note that this will normally require the 6 default MSTS routes installed. Other downloads on that screen appear to be some stock (la S2000 - more than likely a re-skinned series 2000 train supplied with MSTS). Activities appear to be available at the link "funtrain.net" I will have a crack at it over the next day or two and see if I disagreeumptions are right. If they are not (and if you discover they are not in the meantime) then forget most of what I just said ;D (French wasn't my thing at school either, but having downloaded stuff from French, Spanish and Dutch sites in the past - all MSTS related of course - you get to know some of the words, or at least what they appear to mean. EDIT: For some unknown reason the words "I disagreeumptions" keep replacing what I typed which was: "my assumptions" Very strange. I'm tired and on nights but I'm not going that mad - yet.

ROFL! This is the swear filter in operation! Dave has set the phrase "my a$$" to read "I disagree"!! ;D Oh of course, I get it now. Laid awake for a little while trying to figure out what it was, and in the madness you get towards the end of a week of nights, I kept chuckling to myself at the word it produced. I'm still chuckling a bit now. I need some proper sleep.

Well had a little play with the route files and those disagreeumptions of mine were correct.
It's quite a huge route, with what looks like the entire network - though not having much of a clue about the system, I cannot say this for sure. It's big though.
Very little scenery - which explains such a route fitting into 3 10MB files - apart from stations. Looks like most of the route has been built using "surface" track covered by a custom built "tunnel."
Didn't have the time to download or try out the stock, but the supplied activities - of which there are many - definately require it.
The stock it appears to be looking for matches the links I mentioned above, so it would appear that's where you get it.
I'll let someone else play with the rest of it (not really my cup of tea to be honest, but lots to do for those with plenty of time).

Thanks alot for your help.
I've kind of given up trying to get it to work. So many errors kept appearing I was beginning to roll gently backwards and forwards hugging my knees. I'm only keeping sane with the prospect of Dr Jimi's District Line!
Thanks again - i appreciate it!

I tried translating the readme in google and to install the route you should do the following:
1. Ensure you have the 6 default MSTS routes installed.
2. Click on the RFSP-V3_0.part01.rar file and decompress this file in \TS\ROUTES \.
3. Double-click on "Installme.bat"
4. Move the .con files from \TS\RFSP \ to TS\TRAINS\CONSISTS \
Re XTRACK (partial translation!)
If you use file \GLOBAL of origin, teléchargez and décompressez the GLOBAL_X_0_1.zip module in \MSTS\GLOBAL \ while notching
' to use the names of files '. These additions do not modify compatibility with the roads of origin. - If you use Xtrack
3.n, do not download the module GLOBAL_X_0_1.zip
Re ACTIVITIES & SERVICES
Certain activities are not completely operational bus MSTS cannot calculate schedules with roads which include/understand
several points of inversion. This relates to the lines 8, 10 and 12 for the activities with outward journey and return. The
activities are done on board MF67 while the traffic is consisted of the Rfsp-s2000 oar to the colors of the RATP
I hope that helps!

THAT DAMN THING STILL DOESN'T WORK. ARGH. Why me? Why? if i was you i'd leave it alone because as you probably know MSTS is a COMPLETE NIGHTMARE to reinstall if you've got loads of add-ons etc! oh....and it didn't work for me either, despite my best efforts!

Before you give up totally, and still would like to see the route, just do a couple of checks. To some people they are obvious, but worth checking again.
1. Check you have X-Tracks installed (doesn't appear to need the latest version)
2. Check you have the 6 default routes installed and have run the "install.bat" file after you have installed the French route.
3. If you are going to explore the route in the RE like I did just to see what was there, you will need something like Route-Riter to create a .ref file for the route.
4. If you are going to drive the route (which is after all the purpose of this thing) check you have installed all required stock. Go into the activity editor and open one of the activities. It will soon tell you if something is missing.
5. If something is missing, make a note of it and go back to the download site. Quite often the name of the link to the downloads rather than the french wording of the link can give away what's really there. For example, a link labelled "Don't know what this is" may lead to the download of "Route.zip" Check the properties of each link you are not sure of. Our two languages are not that far apart and besides, MSTS is an American program so quite often certain filenames have to be written in English.

Setttt - I don't mean to sound mean, but good! I'm glad it didn't work - i'm not alone! I do actually have 3 or so other downloaded routes, and a couple of bought routes and numerous downloaded trains. I don't know if thats a problem, but if it is i'll sort it out before DrJimi releases something! (Is he a doctor?) If I get it to work, i'll let you know. Citysig - Thanks alot for your help. I will give it a couple more tries, but I have done all those suggestions/checks 3 or 4 times. I don't even get any error messages. MSTS doesn't recognise it at all. "My Kingdom for an error message!"

MSTS doesn't recognise it at all. "My Kingdom for an error message!" No worries, but very strange that it didn't work. But then as those of us that use the sim, nothing is ever standard on two different computers - even if they have the same of everything else. There's maybe only one other difference between what you did and what I did. Instead of running the batch file, I copied my default shapes/textures etc. from a "common" folder I have (route-riter will set one up for you if you have the 6 original routes installed). This saves me having to have those original routes installed. Just a wild shot in the dark, and probably won't make a bit of difference, but you never know there may be something in the batch file that doesn't agree.

Nope - still no luck. As Peter Drucker said, "The computer is a moron."
