Sorry should have made this thread on monday but I forgot Going past the sidings at Wembley Park (the ones that the new rubbish can't fit in) I noticed sleepers had been put across the pointwork on the entrance to the siding. Also blue net fencing had been erected at the entrance and also all the way across from the first road to the last further up the siding where the line of shunt signals are located. Are they starting work for the S stocks to fit? Or moving the metal steps and mini platform for the driver to get in and out of his/her train to fit the C stock?

They are "modifiying" the sidings ready for S7s from the December timetable.

Does this mean some s7s will operate Met services, or will they run empty to wembley? It seems far from the normal s7 route network.

My guess is that they will operate as a Metropolitan line service as far as Baker Street where it will change over to a H&C or Circle line service onwards The 'S7' Stop Mark has been at Finchley Road S/B for a while

Presumably northbound S7's stabling at Wembley will have to go to Harrow to reverse, then head to Wembley on the SB fast road. Will these trains detrain in platform 2 at Baker St or continue northbound in passenger service. It might be easier to detrain at Harrow.

this is much the same as the c stock stationed at wembley park, obviously the same will apply to the s stock for those lines.

I would imagine that an S7 could run in service to Harrow and they detrain and reverse in the siding running back empty to stable at Wembley Park Sidings?

the ones that the new rubbish can't fit in Onion, they're here and they're here for good old son so get with the program. I know you're a tongue in cheek sort of geezer so it's no big deal but rather than talk them down, (and bearing in mid there's no alternative any more) aren't you pleased to see that they're more or less running the Met timetable, unaided by old stock, without any serious problems (I'm sure we'd have heard about it on here if it'd gone ***s up)? It's good news for commuters, the manufacturers and the economy. That's all that matters. As far as "rubbish" is concerned, I actually prefer their appearance and ride quality to A, C and D stock. Air con rules.

Two mainline bursts within an hour is not exactly a serious problem(not so much on an S as an A), but had the T/Ops not dealt with them so effectively they could have become so! Both still took between 15-20 minutes to deal with, in the city and in the evening peak!

I would imagine that an S7 could run in service to Harrow and they detrain and reverse in the siding running back empty to stable at Wembley Park Sidings? It was not unusual for Circles stabling at or leaving Neasden to work both passenger and ety. on the extension. And there used to be an early morning Rayners Lane to Aldgate train worked by a Circle stock. There's no reason why they couldn't do it again if crews changed over east of Baker St.

When did this Rayners Lane train cease? I know in the days of the old saloon stock that the train went as far as Uxbridge but the workings with CO/CP stock did start at Rayners Lane. Did C69 stock ever get used on this route?

Did C69 stock ever get used on this route? I can remember doing a runout with C stock up the Met Main to/from WmPS. Can't remeber which WTT I was doing the runout from though.

It may have been to cover Amershams or as part of a Wembley event?
