Hi everyone. Myself and a friend going to the O2 tomorrow and were wondering about the best way to get there. We had thought about using the Thames Clipper but I was wondering if the DLR might be the better option. Many thanks in advance.

Surely, it's a good idea to tell people where you are starting from, or which main line terminus you are arriving at??

Jubilee to North Greenwich. Only problem is if the recording of Boris comes on as you go through the station box (very much 'voice of God' stylee) as I found out on Mondoay. If you come out of NOG station, the dome is just to your left. 1½ min walk. Surely, it's a good idea to tell people where you are starting from, or which main line terminus you are arriving at?? Aah - well you see Glyn is a 'forum regular' and a professional railwayman so the other regulars know just to give him an 'end point'.

Jubilee Line to NOG, 12 minutes
Thames Clipper, 1 hour but a nice bit of sightseeing if it’s a sunny day.
The DLR doesn’t actually go to the Dome, it goes to Greenwich proper, about a 20 minute bus ride away but some nice pubs in the town, the Trafalgar on the river is a bit touristy but still nice.
Alternatively you could get the W&C to Bank, hop on the DLR to Royal Victoria, get the Cable Car across for an extra £3 each or whatever and then walk to the Dome. Would take well over an hour to do the whole trip with a fair amount of walking, depends if it’s raining and how much time you have to waste. No pubs though....

We're coming in by District from Richmond to Westminster. Walking from there to the Eye and then taking it from there. The Clipper sounds fun. I have a feeling the weather will have a say on the walking options though! Thanks for the help so far guys.

Just to let you know, we did the 'Clipper' way and I can recommend it. Thanks again for your advice all.

Pssstttt - it's not the O2 any more (at least for the duration of the Olympics). You have to ask the way to the North Greenwich Arena
