Morning All, I have recently added a few more London Midland Region pictures to my Flickr site. Not of great interest to members of this Forum perhaps, but there are some taken at Verney Junction, the one time northernmost outpost of the Met. This is the first one; clicking on it will enlarge it and take you to the others : R1257. Sign at Verney Junction. January,1964. by Ron Fisher, on Flickr Hope that they are of interest.

Looks like the seat behind the cab, if I remember my last ride on that type of DMU (c20yrs ago Llanwrst - Blaenau).

Since the sign states Metropolitan Line and not Metropolitan Railway, I guess the sign was put up during the short period between 1933 and 1936?

Very interesting photos - thanks.
I stopped by the site of the station a couple of years back. Depressingly overgrown and little trace of the original, although the platforms were largely in situ.

By then it was just Harrow & W to Belmont (passenger service to Stanmore Village went in the early 1950s).

By then it was just Harrow & W to Belmont (passenger service to Stanmore Village went in the early 1950s). The Park Royal DMU used for the last service still exists on the Helston Railway in Cornwall My partner has and still does work on the site of the former Belmont station. XF

Yes the health centre and car park. My in-laws house backs onto the disused trackbed. Many I belmont wish the line still ran!

And today we learn the line, although not the station, is to be reopened as an electrified route. Who'd have thought!

Sorry to keep this off topic - Verney - but I was taken on the last Belmont train by my father - being only 7 it was the first of many lasts! Next one being RLH's on 230. The dye was cast!
