Please forgive me if this has already been answered.
At present, if there is a problem on this branch, trains can be placed in the sidings at Parsons Green and a "C" stock berthed in the bay road at Putney Bridge. A partial service can be worked even if there are problems south of the river, as there were this morning.
My understanding is that both these refuges will be closed when the S7 stock is introduced. Does this mean that unless the entire branch is clear, trains will not be able to run on any of it?

Reverse at Putney Bridge by shunting past the station, then back across to the eastbound. I'm sure that Parsons Green sidings were going to be extended?

The S7s will be able to use most of the current sidings at Parsons Green, the siding which are south of the station and next to the Westbound are long enough to reverse an S7. An S7 will not be able to reverse in the current bay road at Putney Bridge, as you mention, but it will be able to do the main line shunt move west to east on the river bridge.
It would be very beneficial if the East Putney ground frame was put under command of the signalling control centre to allow emergency reversing at short notice.

Isn't the plan for the Putney Bridge bay to become the new South/Westbound platform. The current Southbound platform will either become disused or be converted to a bay (I can't remember which).

I'm sure that Parsons Green sidings were going to be extended? There is no need to lengthen them, all roads (except 29rd- the one behind the WB platform) are already fitted and capable of accepting S7s.

Many thanks everyone - actually I had read here about the change of platform at Putney Bridge. So the default will be to curtail trains to Parsons Green. (I can't see the "main line" reversal being too popular with the folks who are tasked to run the trains to the timetable ) I trust that the passenger announcements will be re-jigged to instruct passengers for the Putney stations to detrain at Fulham Broadway, where, unlike Parsons Green, there are actually some buses!
