I recently noted a Hillingdon destination blind on the back of an A stock running through Great Portland Street. When is/was this used?

I think it tends to be used if there's a signalling problem at Uxbridge ... trains run to Hillingdon and then in to Uxbridge Sidings from memory.

This move can sometimes be timetabled if a train is required to go into Uxbridge sidings but via the quickest route whilst also providing a customer service up to Hillingdon; where the train detrains and enters Uxbridge sidings directly without having to go via Uxbridge platforms.

Thanks for those replies. Have been on Ruislip terminators but never witnessed a Hillingdon one.

Would've been a few that were up as Hillingdons today as we had a dud 73ts which stalled upon departure at Uxbridge resulting in a couple of trains reversing via the sidings

. Have been on Ruislip terminators Met or Picc? I know the Picc has them during the peaks, but have any Mets ever done that?

I've been on a Met Ruislip Terminator before, but I think that was a faulty train, as I'm fairly sure I got on the next Picc to continue my journey, and the A-Stock was sitting in Ruislip sidings.
