When waiting for a train at Chalf Farm yesterday (Thursday) evening, I noticed that about half of the suicide pit was taken up with a series of wooden boxes. They occupy the space under the negative current rail, and then extend at the same height to the wall of the suicide pit on the side furthest from the platform.
Each of the boxes had a white A4 sheet on the front with black writing on. I couldn't read what they said but they looked a bit like storage license forms.
I didn't look to see if they extended the whole length of the platform, but they are certainly present at the south end.
Does anyone know what they are and why they're there?

they are in the slowest half of the pit 4 obvious reasons. there is air/power tools various p-way tools there probably some tecroc in there as well.
there is track reconditioning going on between chalk farm and and camden town on the southbound as far i know there is no storage between euston and chalk farm, they are purely there to speed up logistics to get the job going quicker, there is/was also the same storage boxes at mornington in the northbound pit.
there is also a compressor on chalk farm southbound platform., this supplies both chalk farm and mornington work sites with air for kangos ect...
i hope this answers your question chris
