Right now:
Suspended between Bank and Tower Gateway, Poplar and Canary Wharf due to a trespasser on the track at Shadwell and an incident at Bank.
Any ideas as to the "incident"?

From a distance, it appears that the DLR is "Belly Up" tonight. Bon chance to all.
<<Edit: Good service on The Drain though, been a little while since I've seen that at this hour.>>

As you can imagine Auntie Diana (and Mr D) managed to get caught up in this, the first time I have been into central London since my last lot of complaints here. Goodness what a jinx I am.
Went after work from office in Canary Wharf on Jubilee Line, that did not even start from the station before there was a message we were stuck as someone has 'accidentally' operated the emergency switch on the train in front. Anyway went to theatre in Covent garden (Woman in Black, a bit strange actually) then we came out at end and see bus 15. Idea to sit upstairs and go to TowerGateway station, good to see the view although it started raining, went into station, touched Oysters, then see message that there are no trains. But policemen and DLR officials all there, they say it will be hopefully 10 minutes so we wait.
You guessed, after 10 minutes we are told it could now be any time because police now involved and "they always take for ever". We actually give up and get a taxi home, and as we touched out Oysters saw they had taken money as well.
Someone here wrote that the '110% reliable' figures calculated for DLR doesnt count 'if its not their fault' problems but I think that you can probably say that about many problems, and once something happens its how long it takes to get everything going again, I suppose if it's 'not our fault' you can take for ever and still blame it all on original problem.
By the way message when things broken down that tickets are good on underground and bus is surely wrong because if we had gone on those we have to pay again so why is that said, the bus driver will not see we went into Tower station and out again and so not charge us for bus.

Special ticket acceptance in times of disruption generally only refers to paper tickets - Oyster cards are unaffected, seeing as you can use those on other services anyway.
You can call the helpline to request a refund if you've touched in and not been able to board a train

So instead of "tickets being accepted" on other services, it is up to the passenger to claim a refund if they are using Oyster?
Seeing as how often the Oyster usage statistics are being trumpeted, this would seem to be either:
a) inefficient b) a money making scam c) incompetence d) lack of joined up thinking e) all of the above

I'd go for E. If you claim B, also remember that with Oyster rail replacement buses are never paid for unless there are special circumstances, e.g. Chiltern make you touch in/out before/after getting on/off the bus!

However, the rail replacement buses will usually be for only part of a trip, with quite possibly a touch in/out before and touch in/out after.

Whenever I used them I ended up capping on Oyster/having a paper travelcard anyway!

Any ideas as to the "incident"? Dunno why it was reported separately - we were being told on LU that it was a trespasser on the track at Bank!!

I know it's probably racist, but I can't help but read that in an Indian accent.

I know it's probably racist, but I can't help but read that in an Indian accent. I don't think you are being racist - you're not believing, or perpetuating the belief that, any race is superior, you're not judging anyone, and you're not discriminating against anyone. It's perfectly alright to think that that sounds hilarious in an Indian accent. I'm Asian myself and heartily agree
