Currently there is a signal failure at Kings Cross. A westbound Met has just departed Barbican out of service - I'm guessing that it'll be put in the sidings at Farringdon? Is there a route for this?

Always thought u accessed Farringdon sidings from Farringdon. Also not sure Farringdon sidings are long enough for an A stock. One of those more knowledgable will know for sure.
What could have happened is the controller is putting an empty train into section to allow trains with passengers into platforms.

What could have happened is the controller is putting an empty train into section to allow trains with passengers into platforms. The emptiness and lack of mass exodus from the following C stock whose driver said the train was progressing about 1 station every 10 minutes suggests it must have been a few trains behind that if there was a service train stuck between stations. Also I got the impression that the S stock had been OOS in the platform for a while (it was sat empty when I arrived and was there for nearly 5 mins before leaving.

I did not think the sidings at Farringdon could hold a A/S stock not long enough. Correct: Siding no.23 98m Siding no.24 95m Siding no.25 96m A8 Stock is 131.4m S8 Stock is 133.6m S7 Stock is 117.4m C6 Stock is 94.3m An train could reverse at Farringdon IR>OR beyond the station.

I'm sure No.25 siding (the one on the left as you look east from the WB platform) couldn't accommodate a C Stock now, as at the buffer stops end is a small staff platform, protected by a new train arrestor to its west.

The Met train would be detrained and pushed into the tunnel empty if a passenger train to the rear was stalled in the section. That way we ensure no one is stuck on the train in a tunnel for an excessive amount of time.

Only 1 siding in use for C stock at Farringdon now.
Will have to be taken out of use when S7s take over.
