A chance to do the N curve in a service train in daylight this weekend Sat/Sun Amersham/Chesham to Watford. 2 trains an hour from each meaning 15min service Chalfont to Watford. Mainly A stock but at least one S stock in service. Very lightly used. Mainly people with cameras when I travelled I'd love it if they ran this in the football season.

It may be going with 5080. I can't see 5161 going on Monday. It is safe at Ricky. 5080+5093 were coupled so you never know....

The North Curve will see full time use with the proposed Amersham - Watford Junction service Proposed by whom? Certainly not LU, as presented to LURS at the last meeting.

Does crusty54 have direct access to God. He's the only one that may have heard of the Amersham-Watford Junction service

Does crusty54 have direct access to God. No, he obviously doesn't. I spoke to God recently and he's in favour of retaining the Uxbridge branch but advocates handing the rest of the Met over to Chilterns as he likes a laugh and can't wait to read the subsequent complaints.

Whistlekiller, as an ex Met employee the Met has to stay with LUL/TfL. Wouldn't be right to transfer it to Chiltern. I say bring back Pullmans between Chesham and Aldgate. Waiters on the "S" stock now there's food for thought. Imagine what Boris could crow about. "Luxury travel returns to London Underground"

We are running the rail replacement service between Ricky & Harrow this weekend. So with some time on my hands, we managed to crank the North Curve this morning on 5112 between Ricky – Watford & back to Chesham. Sadly the interior was looking quite dirty. Nonetheless an enjoyable trip.
After a spot of lunch in Chesham returned on a S stock. The number of A stocks in sidings and in service might just lead the uninitiated to think the A stock still predominates!

I did the same on 5113. Never done it on an A stock before. 5161 was very much in service. Photos to follow...

I expect somebody has proposed it as an extension to either the Aldwych branch or the W&C line. . . . . . It's only a matter of time before somebody does.....................

I raised the prospect of Amersham / Chesham to Watford Junction at one of the Croxley Link Consultation sessions to be told it had not been considered, I suspect whilst Hertfordshire County Council are involved with scheme Buckinghamshire are not.
I would have also thought that when these weekend closures are taking place Chorleywood & Ricky residents should be actively encouraged to use the service rather than drive into Watford.

i wonder is that the proposed chiltern service?. Hello, This scheme seems rather surprising: people from Great Missenden to Aylesbury stations will have to change at Amersham, Chalfont or Rickmansworth (or Watford) to reach central London. This does not look as an improvement!

I don't think the plan is for the existing Chiltern service from Marylebone to terminate at Amersham. The diagram is misleading.
I've seen this diagram before, I think it is part of a fantasy site!
