Can I mention Andrew Martin's new book, "Underground, Overground" published this week by Profile Books.
Have got about a quarter of the way into it, and it's going to be a great read! Just the right amount of humour and information, and he obviously has a great love of all things Underground.
As an example of his writing - isn't this good (from the blurb on the back of the dust jacket); "To see a spectacle: ...the river when viewed from a District Line train blamelessly rocking its way towards salubrious Wimbledon on a summer's afternoon"
A lovely book, with a great cover and the endpapers are a variation of the orange/brown.black Misha Black District Line moquette!
Even our District Dave website gets a mention in the text.
