I am considering modeling LU in N-scale(1:160) and im wondering: does anyone have any tips for someone with a tight budget and little space?
I already know of one place where i can get some rolling stock(1938-stock), but that's handmade and not very cheap. Great quality though. So im also wondering: is there any place where i can find 1:160 scale LU stock? Sub-surface or tube stock doesn't matter as i was thinking of making some kind of a junction layout/diorama.

With little space a junction with perhaps the ends of some platforms would be nice to see.

For the rolling stock, Burkitt has made some really nice 1995ts Sketchup models, ready to be 3D printed from shapeways here. I wish you good luck with this scale, I'm planning a HO layout, and the things seems already so tiny !

I would suggest signing up to the RMweb site as well. They have a section for LU modellers.

Here is the link to the London Underground section to be an active member you will have to join RMweb as simple as joining District Dave www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/forum/169-london-underground/Starting in 4mm would be easier it is amazing what you can do in a small space - How much space do you have? Thanks guys for four help and tips. And, not least, for your good luck wishes. Those shure will come in handy! @cesarparent: I've actually followed that thread very closely since it started. He is very good! Good luck to you too! phillw48: Thanks for the tip. I'll do that right away. @xercesfobe: How much space? Well, i got enough for Alfies suggestion. However it might have to be mobile as im also building a model airport.

Change the airport to a heliport and you will have more room for trains!

While that is true, i'd quite like to keep the airport. It's so small, it hardly takes up any space. At the moment.

You could use Burkitts 95 stock, use it as a '96 like mine, get an A stock from radley models (N gauge one released in 2 months) and base your layout on the north end of the Jubilee line.

Thanks for the tip, tbtc, but i was thinking of making a fictional layout. It's a bit simpler for me becouse, if anything is incorrect, it doesn't matter.

Hi guys
First time poster here
I am just about to start a 00 gauge layout with some LUL on it
best of all SWMBO wants to get involved as well ! !
So the layout can go around our dining room on a 2ft deep shelf
The wood will be delivered today (we hope) then we can start
We still don't have a full plan for the layout yet so any ideas others have will be welcome.
We are thinking of continuous circle with 2 stations something like East Finchley and Woodford with a BR service where the LUL track ends
The first LUL stock came yesterday the EFE 59 stock motorised by radley models it looks great just sitting on a length of track on a shelve
So it is nice to meet you all and we will keep you all up to date how we get on

A few years ago there was a N guague layout at Acton open day that featured the Harrow area with main line, surface stock and tube stock. I cannot remember its name and cannot find it on you tube.

I have just found it on youtube. Kings Park there is a surface underground station and depot. The second video has the A stock (I think) moving.

I believe it is supposed to be 1959 stock which ran on the Bakerloo in the 1980s. Its a lovely layout which is based on Queens Park.
