Oh dear it's me again.
Went shopping yesterday Friday - day off, starting from our station on the Beckton Line to Stratford. At our station there is a big notice saying the DLR is 97% reliable. Mr D who only goes DLR some weekends says that this year he thinks more than half his journeys have been delayed badly so the figure is we think made up. These notices are now everywhere all over DLR.
Anyway our usual trains to Stratford were all missing and trains only every 10 minutes which is half normal - which when I did statistics at school means 50% reliable of course but am sure there is some way that this is not counted, so we had to go to Canning Town where we got the Jubilee underground instead. Only then we saw notices that they were doing yet another try at the Olympic timetable, which seems to mean we lose half the trains, although nothing said this.
So, things all done at Stratford and after lunch we now needed to go to Greenwich so the DLR again, got as far as Poplar where we stopped for some time. Mr D says they are waiting for the next Beckton train to come in so the doors can be slammed in faces of the people running across the platform, like normal, but we just waited more and then a message that train broken down in Greenwich. Then we are told our train is now going a couple of stations beyond Canary Wharf so no need to change there but we now must change trains further on, it goes on with train still saying Canary Wharf and station saying Await Announcements. Just one train going other way which looks so full, like something from a refugee film. Our driver gives several messages which seem to say nobody knows what is going to happen. Long wait again then suddenly announced that we are going to Greenwich now although it had all taken such a long time.
What a test of the Olympics arrangements.
