James C-Stocks are cleared between Barking & Uxbridge, but not in passenger service, I presume it was going to Upminster for some maintenance (Wheel lathe?)

C stocks have been cleared to run between Barking & Upminster for at least 2 years now!!
They usually only come for a spin on the wheel lathe - in fact there was a C stock sat on that road yesterday......

At line speed or at a reduced speed?

Full line speed on that section is 45mph - C stocks are cleared to do 40mph (their maximum permitted speed).
If they were only permitted at low speed they wouldn't be allowed through there in traffic hours!!
