Hello Went on the Central yesterday and got one of the pre-refresh trains. Only three of the saloon lights were on in my carriage, with all of the side lights off. This was fine between Woodford and Leyton but then going into the tunnel it was a bit of an issue. Was there a fault or had the driver just forgotten to put them on? Thanks kabsonline

I gather that's a fair indication that the driver needs to reset his/her auxiliaries - a driver would know what to do should it be reported to them anyway.......

Happens all the time on the 92ts, the lights usually come back on automatically at some point during the journey. When this happens only the emergency lights by the gangways are on. People don't report it, they just look at it amused for 5 seconds and then resume reading the London Evening SUB-STANDARD in the dark.
You know what...I actually prefer it dark.

The unit had *loadshed*. A common occurrence that is not indicated to the driver with an alarm as it used to be. We've all been given a telling off from the depots because we've been resetting on the move as we were once instructed to. Now we have been told only to do it once the train is stationary, but by then it sometimes gets forgotten about. Though not by me or Ceiling Cat, because a *loadshed* unit will be accompanied by a traction fault resulting in sluggish movement. This problem does not automatically reset itself BTW. It has to be done by the overpaid-always-on-strike-acolyte-of-Bob-Crow baboon on the front............

Lol, the lights always seem to come back on during movement which would suggest those two-button pushing ATO bandits are not doing it stationary.

Had you read what 'auxsetreq' said properly, you'll note that he said "We've all been given a telling off from the depots because we've been resetting on the move as we were once instructed to. Now we have been told only to do it once the train is stationary".
That would suggest a very recent change, and given that he's a Central line driver it is quite reasonable to assume he does know what he's talking about.

I did read correctly ta, he also mentions it gets forgotten about hence why I said they always "seem" to come back on during movement.
I meant no offence in my comment however just about every member of this forum is quite aware that auxsetreq is a Central Line driver. That's almost as bad as saying I think the 92ts operate on the Metropolitan Line...
