Can anyone rememebr when the Circle Line was re-aligned in the new tunnels between Barbican (then Aldersgate) and Moorgate?
ISTR it was early 1970's, but could have been mid 60's when i was still at school. Memory is fading...
Anyone got any pics of the work or diagrams?

IIRC it was a precursor to the Barbican development, and done in the first half of the 1960s.

Work started in September 1963, with the new City Widened Lines alignment brought into use on 21st June 1965. The new Circle Line alignment was brought into use on 6th December the same year. As for pictures of the work here is a Beforeand After

That's some massive realignment! I remember seeing the work in progress but thought it was done later than that. (fading memory, alz-wotsit..) etc.
