Hello
As I am starting a Tube project - partly fictional, partly real I think - I need think about signaling a little bit. As for how LU signals are organized, I found out on Tubeprune's website. However, as I will probably stick to my analog system (DCC is to much expansive for me), I wanted to know if any shop sells suitable signals for a tube layout, or if anybody has some circuits plans to do them myself.

hi there
as far as I know, there are no ready-made signals which look like underground signals. For the below-ground type, it is easy enough to make them up yourself as they are only two bulbs in an oblong box. The above-ground ones require taking a British outline model and modifying. It would be a good project for someone to do in sketchup! Analogue wiring should be staightforward for two-aspect signals, to help you more we would need a drawing of the track and your proposed signals

It's on my to do list! I am currently working on a LT conversion kit for the Eckon signal pack. Initially it will be a standard LT 2 aspect signal but other versions can be done. My layout will use mind blowing signalling which is very complex (to me!) but he is a site I got my ideas from. www.kpsec.freeuk.com/projects/signal.htm

Thanks to all of you for these answers ! For the layout, it is almost determined, I'll post it here ASAP. As far as home and start signals are concerned, I plan to do a simplified version, with one automatic home signal and one start signal triggered by a button, which clears it if the track ahead is cleared. That way, I can stop the train and decides when I want it to leave.
Finally, for the trains detection and signal/traction current toggle, I found a circuit which uses the current consumption. It seems better than the reed switch as it allows train detection even if it didn't pass on the reed switch, but way more complicated, so I don't know yet.

metman/neilw - I hope you're all working on a plug and play version for those of us that find 12v DC quite advanced!

I too have been using Eckon. I use the two aspect R/G starter as a station starter on my layout. I might file the corners down to make it rounded but It looks close enough for me!

Thank you for these information, I just searched google and found some electrical diagram for this twin T. For the layout diagram, I'm heading to this : "]I will build the lower part (the fictional Piccadilly), and maybe consider doing the upper later. I have put green signals where I would think automatic signals should fit. For the red ones, I think I'll set the aspect with a trigger button. The, if the button is set to clear, the signal would act as an automatic one. I decided to put a red one before the Tunnel on the Piccadilly as it's the last one before the siding outside the landscape, so I suppose it's a better protection. So that's it, I hope it makes sense. If anyone has remarks on how the signals are laid out, I'll take them with pleasure

The approach home signals at Clapton Junction would be red because they read over points and have to be controlled. Also you'd usually have at least two homes approaching a station, being designated an A and a B signal and a train's length or less apart. Ok thanks for the advice on the controlled signal at CJ. Are there any signals on the real tube, which act as controlled signals if the lever is cleared, but can be set to stop if the lever is toggled ? Also, for the multiple home signals, I think I won't go that far, as it would need more and more space ;D

I picked some HO/OO Eckon signals at a local exhibition a few months ago. Although I am doing O gauge it occurred to me that (with some surgery) the Eckon signals would make a pretty good representation of the short range sub-surface signals I need for my layout.
