In his "Chronolgy of London Railways" (1982), H.V. Borley states Park Royal opened as "Park Royal & Twyford Abbey" (on 23/6/03). Yet there is an entry in a District Railway Traffic Notice saying that from 1/5/04 "Park Royal" would be renamed "Park Royal & Twyford Abbey". Any ideas folks??

The 1903 timetables I have photo copies of for the Park Royal and S Harrow services all show the name as "Park Royal".

Not really an answer to you question, but I thought it might be of interest: in "London's Disused Underground Stations" by J. E. Connor, he mentions "Although officially named 'Park Royal & Twyford Abbey', and shown as such on the nameboards, the suffix does not seem to be included on the MDR tickets." The chapter also includes a land plan where it is simply labelled "Park Royal Station." On the side, hopefully still relevant enough: I was poking around some pictures on the LTM website, and came across a picture of the temporary booking office at the 1931 resited Park Royal location, interesting how prominently it is labeled temporary in the main signage: www.ltmcollection.org/images/webmax/68/i0000k68.jpg - are there any other examples like this?
