I completely agree. The A Stock just don't fit the modern needs of the commuter. They are too squashed in peak times with everyone trying to squeeze onto the transverse seats, normally I just stand. The S Stock allow you to keep your personal space while also increasing capacity. If you want a train like an A Stock head to a main line and not an Underground line

Indded...Unfortunately, the Met is quickly loosing it's mainline type status. Soon it will be just another tube line

Surely not? They still run fast trains don't they ? Is London Overground considered to be a tube line or a main line?

Yeah, quite a strange arrangement. People complain about the seating there but it really is needed on the North London Line service. Perhaps in the future a tube style service could be operated? That's another story.....
