I was waiting at Royal Albert around 4pm today when a message came over the PA advising passengers travelling to the boat show to "Take a Beckton service and alight at Prince Regent". Now for most of the network this would be useful information, but at Royal Albert taking a Beckton service is not going to help anybody get to Prince Regent.

Just the once, I got off the DLR and caught a bus to the delightful little railway museum at North Woolwich.

The announcement quoted here is as useless as the one made many times every day at King George V, "The next train at platform 1 is for Woolwich Arsenal via London City Airport."
I once saw someone dash onto the platform as such a train arrived and make a beeline for the train - I'm fairly sure he was going to (or at least intending to go to) the airport.
