The press release from TfL about work being done on Christmas Day mentions signal testing on the Northern but also, interestingly, the Met, Circle and H&C. Is this referring to work specifically for the S7 testing or is it going further than that, i.e. preparation for full resignalling? (Has that tender even been won yet?)

The tender has been won by Bombardier. I suspect though that it is testing of S7 enabling work resignalling.

Dan

Commissioning of new signalling at Edgware Road will be taking place during 28th-30th December. There has been/will be work going on in relation to this project right up to the date of commissioning fully. The new signalling is in relation to the introduction of the S7s. It will allow the longer trains to use Edgware Road.
The works mean that the H&C will be part-suspended during Christmas-New Year week, and this will also have a knock-on effect to the Met which will also see suspensions in the city area.

My day shift colleagues got the best light for photos; those of us on nights had to make do with what was available. On the plus side we got the first chances to photograph two S7s next to each other at Edgware Road! There is also a new press release related to the works here.

I saw one of your colleagues night photographs at Edgware Road, some really good shots, good to see some progress happening and keep up the good work London Underground!

Yes - exactly that. I hear the Edgware Road one stood out like a sore thumb when compared to similar rooms for Network Rail at the Invensys Factory, including being affectionately referred to as 'The Beast'.
Someone made a big thing about it being the first on LU when we used a pre-fabricated room for Plaistow (West Ham) SER last year. It's a pity they didn't look only a mile or so away to Stratford (Central Line) SER which is similarly in a portacabin-type building and dates from 1994!
