There is no consistent pattern - each station to its own. But you can find out the whole lot, station by station, hereA long job, but a complete one

Stations where there is a signal cabin are normally numbered from the signal cabin location.

But you can find out the whole lot, station by station, hereA long job, but a complete one Clives line guides are riddled with mistakes and much of the info is out of date, a few examples below: This from the Northern line page, this was there when the Northern still operated 1972 stock. This from the Victoria line page suggests trains can swap over from the crossovers, which is not the case. This connection has been out of ues for several years now.

You're right as to Clive's details - I should have explained that.
But as to the general principles it's better than nothing to start from (and I know of no other site which gives anything)

I always thought that the principle of platform numbering was even numbers towards London and odd numbers away from. Inside the circle I think it was in the order built. Probably does not apply now though.
