There seemed to be a problem with the train describers on the Edgware branch this morning. I arrived on platform 2 at Hendon Central at about 06:20 as usual, to find that the first train from that platform was shown as "Edgware" - impossible unless single line operation is in place. A "Check front of train" was inserted, and train 112 duly arrived, displaying "MORDEN VIA BANK" - there were still trains showing for Edgware as well as Kennington via Charing Cross when I observed the describer at Brent Cross.
Northbound trains appeared to be running, and described, normally.
Was there some problem with train identification on the Edgware branch this morning?

This doesn't only affect southbound journeys. Often at Embankment n/b the first train is shown as Kennington. Sometimes this is corrected before the train arrives but if not it shows as "Check front of train". Never spotted this when changing N/b at Bank

At Belsize Park the southbound describers were blank and the SA doing SATS announced my train was going to Kennington Via Chx. When I got off the train at Camden, the SATS man there said it was a Morden Via Chx. Bearing in mind what Iv'e seen from other fellow commuters on the northern in the morning, it must have been too much for their brains to handle.
