I am a big Pannier tank fan, having first seen an LT one at Hammersmith WB local on the Acton Works train in the late 1960s.

Wonderful stuff. Those locos wore working hard up that incline and reminded me of my first car, a side valve Morris Minor, struggling to get up a hill!

Good to see the two panniers video, just a shame the weather was not a bit better on the day... I managed to get to see the train a couple of times and it certainly brought back some memories to see L94 in its LT livery, though I don't recall seeing it on passenger trains before! Just one point, I'm glad I was not the fireman on that loco watching most of my effort blasting away up the chimney. Seriously though a couple of former main line steam drivers I know have said that the driver would be up before the shed foreman for wasting coal.
