I'm using Google Earth to plot out the routes of the sub-surface lines by using 'pins' to mark open cuttings, stations, etc. Having watched a cab view video on YouTube, I tried to locate a cutting on the Olympia Branch, but I couldn't find it. It is very short and has a grill over it, and it is about two thirds of the way through the tunnel which is just west of Earl's Court Station. The tunnel on the Earl's Court side of the cutting is round, while the tunnel on the Olympia side of the tunnel is square. There are a few objects which I think could possibly be the cutting, but the Google Earth picture isn't clear enough. So, I was wondering if anyone could tell me where the cutting is. (By the way-if it helps-this is the link to the video: The cutting I am talking about is at 3mins 20secs) Link corrected

It looks to me as if it's at the point shortly before the District passes under the West London Line - note that this is on the main line, before the Olympia branch turns off. The flat roofed tunnel would be the underside of the WLL flyover.
Looking at that rea, there appears to be a covered way of some kind on the correct alignment between the WLL and the Earls Court 1 complex.

Are you refering to the white thing which is bewteen Earl's Court 1 (EC1) and the West London Line (WLL), or the black thing which is partially underneath EC1?

I can't seem to draw anything onto Google Maps but i think the shaft is in the shadow of EC1: tinyurl.com/d7eto63

Dstock7080: I'm using Google Earth, not Google Maps. You can place 'pins' down as markers. Thanks for your help.

When they come out into the open, on both sides, the tracks are side by side. However, in the tunnel, the lines are separate.

I had a look today, from inside the hole - looking up. The daylight is obscured by Earl's Court 1 cutting across at an angle, so my guess above seem to be right. Using historical Google Earth to find a clearer picture, i push-pinned the location: tinyurl.com/cey827k

Thank you DStock7080. I agree that that is the correct location of the cutting.
