With the Beckton branch being closed this weekend, trains from Tower Gateway are running to Mudchute.
Is this the first time that Platform 3 at Mudchute has been used for a *SCHEDULED* service?

Not the first time... there have been other weekend closures this year that have resulted in a Tower Gateway - Mudchute service. It's unusual though, not sure why they don't just reverse at Crossharbour.

Crossharbour Headshunt will only take 2 LRV's in ATO. It is possible to get 3 in, but it has to be in Emergency Shunt, and the coupler needs to be touching the buffer stop. Also a big risk that the points won't clear.

What was interesting about the couple of journeys that I did over the weekend were the number of people who were just expecting all southbound trains to go to Lewisham and so weren't looking at the indicators on the platform; weren't looking or listening to the automated announcements on the trains or the manual announcements from the PSA advising passengers travelling to stations between Island Gardens and Lewisham to change at Crossharbour, but then thought it was someone else's fault that they arrived in the bay platform at Mudchute - those that noticed at that point of course and didn't stay on the train waiting for it to depart southbound and looked a little surprised when it went out northbound.
