Seen this before? ...and a few more here. Is that the Oerlkon (sp) stock of yore that the LMR and its predecessors operated on suburban services years ago? I also remember Carpenders Park being the location of a housing estate where many US military personnel and their families lived whilst stationed in the London area.

As an aside, why was the station rebuilt; had its number just come up?

A large housing estate was built/being built on the site of Oxhey Hall Golf Course and I guess facilities were inadequate.

Yes this the stock together with the LMS compartment stock which worked the North London Lines until they were replaced by the BR 3-car EMU's (later Class 501) from 1957. I went to St Meryl School that was next to the US housing estate you refer to, which has long since been redeveloped. XF

Quality shot - transition livery from LNW to LMS I reckon , so must be 1924 or so.
(I tried to get a 313 named "Oerlikon" to commemorate the 1997 anniversary - but a certain boss would not allow it !!!)
