If it was the 11th, wouldnt it have been advertised by now, sending out tickets etc.

If this is a 50 years in service its a bit late? Will there also be an A stock farewell tour sometime in the Summer?

If it was the 11th, wouldnt it have been advertised by now, sending out tickets etc. Its just over a month away, so they are leaving it abit late for the 11th. Even more of reason for me to be hopeful!

Given that Aldwych only went on sale last week, and it's only three weeks away, anything is possible! The LTM don't have a great track record of promoting events well in advance (their website is still advertising the October Acton Open Weekend for example!)

Sadly for a number of reasons this tour on this particular date is subject to possible postponement into 2012. Just a heads up warning for you all - not to firm up your plans for 11 Dec just yet. To be clear, just at the moment it is beginning to look a bit iffy - but this is not 100% dead just yet.

Phew! For me and a couple others anyway. Are you able to comment on what the iffy things are?

Celebrating 51 years in passenger service!
You could always paint one gold for the 50th; would be an ironic nod to 'steam to silver'!

If it was to be painted in Silver it might add some impetus to a train of A stock being preserved.

If it was the 11th, wouldnt it have been advertised by now, sending out tickets etc. When I booked on the 67 stock tour I didn't get my tickets until the day before!

Worst punctuality for a railtour ticket to arrive was when I booked on a 37/33 tour to Quainton Road and back from Marylebone, the tickets arrived in the post, on the morning of the tour!

Sadly, for a number of reasons the tour will be postponed. Early next year is the likely date, where we will try our very best again to get this to fruition. It was a very close run thing for December 11th, but just in the last few days, it finally bit the dust.
