Thanks for the replies - I must have been there at some point in my life, I've visited every Piccadilly station aside from Heathrow 5, and I can't ever recall any station below ground without the pit. Anyhow, thanks to those sharing pictures, always appreciated. York Road, Down Street and Brompton Road don't ;D ;D (for the same reason As Aldwych though) Probably every Picc station that was open before 2008 Unless he's more than 100 years old, I suppose.

Well, it was touch-and-go as to whether I'd actually make it up there today, thanks to bits falling off a bridge onto the railway line in the Queenstown Road area. Fortunately, the District Line from Wimbledon saved the day, and I managed to get there in plenty of time. Although I'd been there for the blitz exhibition, it was fantastic being able to explore and take photos a bit more leisurely, as well as visit the disused platform. My pics from the day are here. Thanks to all the LTM staff and volunteers who made it such a success. If only they could organise tours of a few more of the disused stations, but I guess that's probably wishful thinking these days.

I agree that we should be shown more of the disused stations - Funnily enough it was when I was researching the ghost stations back in 2004, I found Dave's original site, and subsequently this place when it opened. York Road was the one that captured my imagination, the amount of times I've been through it, yet still haven't spotted is astonishing.

The Post Office Railway tunnels are one place I would like to have visited. I don't suppose it is possible now (legally). They were on a 'care and maintenance' regime but that has possibly ceased as some stock has now been recovered for preservation.

I am aware of that, pity that the few tours that took place when it was operational were not advertised or were invite only. They had a special passenger car built. In more recent years they probably did not have tours because of 'elfin safety'.
